Danielsville man recalls baby's hauntings

Cecil Hart is one of those local men who isn't short on stories, often spinning tales about matters he said have happened to him in his 70 years on earth -- even ghost stories.

Recently while standing outside his home on Wagener Lane in downtown Danielsville, he recalled a story about the ghost of a baby that once haunted a farmhouse where Hart's family lived when he was a boy.

After moving into the house, he said his mother heard the mournful wail of a baby crying. She went to check on her daughters, but they were sleeping, Hart said. "The noise was in the front room."

It was well known that a baby had died in this house when another family lived there.

"The sound was coming from where the baby lay corpse," Hart said, adding his mother spoke to the voice coming from an invisible source. "She said, 'little darling don't worry - ain't nothing going to happen to my two little ones down th
